Craps Rules
There are usually four casino crew on a craps game. They are the boxman, stickman, and the two dealers. The boxman handles the bankroll and gets to sit down during the game. He changes your cash into chips, checks the dice for any defects, and oversees the game. He's also responsible for solving any disputes.
The stickman, meanwhile, is the one who holds the stick to control the dice. He pushes three dice with the use of his stick to the next shooter. The shooter then chooses a pair of dice, then rolls. The stickman is also responsible for calling out the outcome of the roll. He's also in charge of the proposition bets.
The dealers take care of their own of the table. They mainly give the payoffs to the winners, and collect the losing wagers. They also make the place bets and lay bets for you.
Player etiquette
As with most things, proper etiquette should be followed as well when playing craps. To not incur the ire of the craps table crew, avoid doing the following:
Throwing your wager at the dealers. Set your bet down on the table calmly and state your wager.
Fiddling with the dice before throwing. Do not make the other players and the crew wait for you to throw.
Throwing the dice too hard. You simply toss it across the table, don't throw it. Throwing it hard will throw the dice off the table, which slows the game down. It also means bad luck for superstitious players.
Throwing the dice at the dealer's working stacks or at the mirror on the other side of the table. Dice should be rolled down the table to the other side, and should bounce off the wall at the other end.
Rolling with two hands. Use one hand when rolling the two dice.
Hide the dice. This, again, slows the game down, and will subject your for inspection.
Dump cigarette ashes on the table. It is a craps table, not an ashtray.
Complain when you lose.
